Day 11: 19 August 2013: Part 1: The Sunrise at Pangong
The morning, I had plans to capture the sunrise at Pangong. I wake up at 0500 and it is still dark outside with no daylight. I take this opportunity to freshen-up and around 0530, I come out of the tent to capture the sunrise.
Gradually, some light is visible on the other side of the lake, but there are mountains. Seems the sun would be visible much after it’s rise from here. Maybe I shall go to China to capture π The coulour of Pangong is absolute Blue…
At around 0600 hrs, the sunrays hit the clouds and shower gold…
And as a result, the Pangong is now changing it’s hues to Orangish..
I capture a pano shot
And look into the Pangong
The sunrays are now showering the peaks on our side
And just then the Sun becomes visible from behind the mountains and the dance of colours start
The ice capped peaks are bathed in Sunlight and now they’ll start melting.
And then Tony comes out of the tent
While I keep capturing the dance of colours
We get some “I was here pics”
and get again busy chasing the colours and sunlight
And we click some shadows too π
And some random clicks including another set of “I was here too” clicks π
The sun has now come out and so we go to pack our bags. We go to get the breakfast and tea when we notice the car bathed in Sun
One last click of the mighty Pangong Lake (or is it?)
A view of the tents’ setup
And I notice the name of the settlement, Padma it is!
We finish our breakfast and ask the guy managing Padma to click one group picture
Having done this, we proceed. Today is a long run and we have to reach Tso Moriri by evening, so better to start early. The time reads 0715 hrs.
